Currently the service offers UK/IE/US Horse Racing, Football (Soccer), Greyhound racing, Tennis, Golf, Boxing and some popular reality TV shows. betNOW 'searches' for what you want to bet on and offers options relating to your text. How do I bet on the football?
To bet on a football team simply send the name e.g. ARSENAL (no other text required). Then to select from the bet offer, simply reply with letter A, B or C etc (no other text required). To bet on an exact score in football simply send the team and score e.g. ARSENAL 1 0. (this means Arsenal to win 1-0, home or away). Then to select from the bet offer, simply reply with letter A, B or C etc (no other text required). On the day of the game, you can also bet on first scorer. Simply text the name of the PLAYER you think will score first to 89000.
How do I bet Accumulators, Doubles, Trebles or each way?
BetNOW only supports 'singles'. There are however, two ways to bet each way; 1. If you have more than £6 in your account, you can text your horse-name to 89000. Option A on the bet-offer will be your horse to win. Option B on the bet-offer will be your horse to-be-placed. Reply A B. You have now placed an each-way bet. 2. If you have less that £6; text the horse-name as above, reply A to place the to-win bet. Then resend the horse-name and reply B to place the to-be-placed bet. This is £3-each-way (costing £6 total).
Why do you have limits and what are they?
betNOW limits your losses to £30 per day from your phone bill (Vodafone customers may spend up to £500 in a day) or £500 per day from your betNOW account. betNOW limits your losses to £930 per calendar month from PSMS and to £1000 from betNOW account. These limits are in place to protect our customers from incurring uncontrolled losses. These limits can be changed by the customer at www.betnow.co.uk.
What is a ‘Return’?
A return is the total money paid out (including the stake money) on a winning bet.
When can I bet?
Most markets are available about 3 days before they take place. With horse racing, markets are typically available on the day of the meeting. If your chosen runner is not yet available, you will be offered an alternative.
How do I collect my winnings?
You can collect you winnings from either the Post Office for a £1 fee or free of charge or on your payment card. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have funded your betting directly via payment card, you cannot collect in cash from the post office.
Why can't I collect my total balance?
You have probably still got some free bet credit which you cannot collect. A free bet credit is allocated to customers as part of a promotion and is used to fund subsequent 'free bets'. Such credit is a non-negotiable, non-refundable, non-transferable, discretionary credit; that the customer may use to fund their bets but which cannot be collected. If a customer wins a bet (wholly or partially) funded with free bet credit, then that portion of the stake which is funded by free bet credit is returned to the customer as free bet credit, the remainder of the total return is credited as winnings.
What happens if a send CALL ME, HELP or FUND?

Texting ARSENAL or ARSENAL 2 0 returns options relating to the match odds and winners markets for Arsenal's next match respectively. 4.
Texting DOGS returns betting options relating to the next UK greyhound race. 5. GOLF returns options relating to the winner market of the next major tournament. 6. TENNIS returns bet options relating to upcoming grand slam event.
How do I bet different amounts?
When replying to a bet offer text message from betNOW instead of replying just ‘A’ to place a default bet (£3) you can add an amount. For example replying ‘A 20’ would place a £20 on option A of the bet offer text you received. IMPORTANT NOTE: You can only vary the stake when funding you bet from your phone bill (using PSMS) if you are on the Vodafone network (up to £15 in a single bet), for all other networks PSMS funded bets are a fixed £3.00.
Can I cancel a bet?
Once a bet is taken, it cannot be cancelled. This is because it is immediately 'laid off' against a counterparty (generally a betting exchange or bookmakers).
Can I select more than one runner from a bet-offer?
If you have sufficient monies in your betNOW account to cover multiple £3 bets, you can select more than one runner, or each runner more than once. For example, if you reply A A B to a bet offer, and have more than £9 in your account, this will place two £3 bets on option A and a third on option B. If you have less than £3, it will only place your first selection from your phone bill.
How do I accept a bet-offer?
When you text the service with a sport or event, it searches out a bet-offer and replies, based on a £3 bet. To accept the offer, simply reply with your selection (A,B,C..) and optionally the amount you want to bet (e.g A5 for a £5 bet).
Which bet-offer am I selecting when I reply?
betNOW only responds to the last text it received. If you try and reply to anything other than the most recent bet-offer, the service will assume you are replying to the latest bet-offer and will place the bet accordingly. As such you cannot scroll back through your message inbox and reply to a given bet-offer, it is always the latest bet-offer that's available for selection.
What should I do if I do not receive a reply to my text requesting a bet-offer?
If you have sent a text requesting a bet-offer and not received a reply in a few minutes, it is worth checking your phone (See below). If you are happy there are no issues, it is safe to re-request your the bet-offer.
What should I do if I do not receive a reply to my text selecting a bet from the bet-offer?
If you are selecting your bet from a bet-offer, more care should be taken, because a bet could be placed unintentionally. Generally if you are sending in your selection of A,B,C.. you should assume the service has received the text and that your bet will be placed, it is just that the bet confirmation has been delayed. (Note that the bet is only ever placed if the bet-confirmation is subsequently received). DO NOT send in your bet-selection multiple times unless you want to place multiple bets on the same runner!
What happens if a send CALL ME, HELP or FUND?
These are some of the special keywords that the service recognises. The service will acknowledge your request and replies with details of how betNOW will get back to you. IMPORTANT NOTE: if you trigger one of these keywords when you have an active bet-offer, that bet-offer may expire. You will need to re-request your bet offer if you want to get your bet on.
I sent a text but received no response, or the response took a very long time. Why is this?
Typically our service is very quick, responses should be received within seconds, but, like all text service, subject to the normal mobile service provider delays sometimes experienced sending and receiving texts. Known issues that may delay your texts: 1. If you have ‘message delivery receipts’ turned on. If you have significant delays, turn this feature off from your mobile phone or contact your mobile service provider. 2. If your phone memory is full, it will reject text messages. Try emptying it and try again.
3. Your mobile may have dropped out of coverage. If you believe you should have coverage, try turning the phone and and off. 4. We send many of our service texts as 'double texts'; two texts that are combined by your phone. On some phones (e.g. Blackberry) this can cause issues if your message in-box is very full. Try emptying your in-box and try again.
BetNow sent me a message saying I must register as being aged 18 years or older, why?
You must be aged 18 or older to gamble. Our short code 89000 should only be used by customers who have registered as 18 or over. You can register at www.betnow.co.uk and the system will confirm your age. betNOW only use name and address to achieve this. Additional checks are performed when you collect your winnings as you need to open an account with us and potentially prove your age and ID at the Post Office.
What is the phone number for customer care?

How do you calculate your returns?
We ‘lay off’ our bets against sports betting exchanges and bookmakers and we deduct text costs at source. We then present our bet offer in terms of a 'total return' made up of the stake and the possible winnings.
How do your odds compare to the starting prices I see?
The returns are calculated in real time when you get a bet-offer. The returns are those available at that time. They do not necessarily reflect the starting prices you see anywhere else. If you reply with a bet selection, you are accepting those returns. See the betting rules and T&Cs for more details.
Why have I seen better odds on-line?
The betNOW service works best for longer odds runners. This is because the text costs are deducted at source, from the stake, before the bet offer is made. In effect you are paying for the convenience of betting anytime, anywhere. At very short odds, the odds available to us when calculating the return are generally similar to those available on-line at one of the betting exchanges. Once text costs are deducted, the calculated returns are lower than some available on-line but are generally competitive with, or better than, the high street.
Why do you need to verify my age?
It is a legal requirement for betNOW to confirm your age before you bet after 72 hours of you betting from your own money and before you collect any winnings.
